New Website Sections and my updated UFC rankings.

Well Combat Sports fans, it was a great weekend of fights, including a crazy decision to crown a new boxing lightweight champion. (I'll have articles on everything from this weekend of fights coming out as soon as I can). Until then, please check out the new sections I have added to my website. Some sections are still a work in progress and will be updated once I work through the design issues.

First up is the new cover page. I will be updating the picture, just need to contact some people to confirm permission for the picture I am hoping to use. Also, at the top you'll notice some new sections.

The first new section is the "Fan Zone" which is going to be a forum. Unfortunately the design is giving me some issues and this section is still a work in progress. I think it is working, it is just the design I am having issues with. So feel free to check it out and start using it for discussions if you would like. The "Fan Zone" will be a key feature of this website where Combat Sports fans can interact with one another, and perhaps learn about other areas of Combat Sports that they may not know about. For example, there likely would have been a big forum for last night's Lomachenko vs Lopez boxing fight, where MMA fans who may not watch boxing al that often could learn about the fight and the world of professional boxing (in addition to checking out my article posts of course). Or boxing fan's who may not watch MMA much could interact with fans for this weekend's big upcoming UFC 254: Khabib vs Gaethje event.

The next section is My Rankings. This is to be, well of course, my rankings. I list my rankings for the top 15 UFC fighters. Please note, these are my opinion and they may differ from the official UFC rankings. How awesome would it be if maybe one day I become of the contributors to the official UFC rankings? The other section under My Rankings, is My Bellator Rankings. This is one section I am very proud to release when it is completed. I cannot find any official rankings from Bellator anywhere. There have been a few fan created, unofficial rankings, like mine, however they are no longer updated. One of the Google results I got when searching for Bellator rankings actually sent me to a 2014 article, and Rampage Jackson was the headlining picture on it. I plan to continue publishing my rankings for Bellator. Stay tuned next week when I start publishing my rankings for Bellator MMA. The list will be fully completed on the day of their next event as the middleweight title is on the line at Bellator 250, on Thursday, October 29.

Here's a sneak peak at my UFC Featherweight Rankings, updated today, October 18, (after the Brian Ortega vs Korean Zombie fight). Check out My Rankings for the rest.

The next new section on the website is an About section. This is still a work in progress. Here I will tell my story of publishing this website and what it is all about. I will also talk about who I am and my experience as a martial artist. Check back soon for when this is up. I will have a blog article posted on this once it is available.

The final new section is the "Of the Month" awards. It's like employee of the month combined with the performance of the night bonuses that the UFC hands out. For now, the following categories will be, best KO, best submission, best fight, and best up and coming prospect. More sections will likely be added later on. Also, for now this section will be just MMA. As I get more and more into watching other combat sports, and reporting on them through this website, expect more sections to be added soon. I am also hoping to add a voting feature where fans can vote on awards as well.

Expect more features and sections to be added to this website in the future. I do have some ideas in mind, but they will come later on. Also, I will be adding a logo very soon. Until then, I hope you enjoy this website, and the ever improving Combat Sports Journal.
