My Bellator Lightweight and Featherweight Rankings

I ended up not getting a chance to post yesterday, so today I will post two. Continuing my 8 part series on producing unofficial rankings for Bellator MMA, today I present the lightweight and featherweight divisions. This works out well actually, since the featherweight champ, Patricio Pitbull, became the lightweight/featherweight double champ last year. In May last year, Patricio Pitbull moved up to challenge then lightweight champ and now top ranked UFC fighter Michael Chandler. Pitbull won that fight with a first round KO victory in just over a minute.

First up is lightweight. As mentioned, Patricio Pitbull holds that championship belt. He is currently competing in the Featherweight World Gran Prix, and fights next month, defending his featherweight title against Pedro Carvalho. Bellator has so far not forced their double champions to relinquish one of their titles (which I absolutely love), but this does create a hold up at lightweight. Especially with the several month pandemic shutdown, Bellator may not have a lightweight title fight for a while. To my knowledge Bellator has never created an interim championship. Interestingly, I have Pitbull's brother, Patricky Pitbull sitting as the #1 contender at lightweight. Now the chance of them fighting is essentially zero, so Patricio partaking in the Featherweight World Gran Prix might be a blessing in disguise for the lightweight division as it sorts itself out for a #1 contender to fight Patricio at lightweight. Especially since #2 on my list, Benson Henderson just lost his last fight to now UFC fighter, Michael Chandler. See the full list at lightweight below:

The second weight class I will publish today is the featherweight division. In case I haven't mentioned, Patricio Pitbull is the champ at featherweight as well as lightweight. Patricio is currently in Bellator's Featherweight World Gran Prix, and will compete next month with the featherweight title on the line against my #1 contender, Pedro Carvalho. See below for my featherweight rankings.

You can view the full list of my rankings that I have published for Bellator MMA here.

As always, I must say, I am not affiliated with Bellator MMA in anyway. My list is unofficial and may differ from any official rankings by Bellator MMA. I have never been able to find any published official rankings from Bellator. I have actually been informed by a Russian fan that there does exist a rankings for Bellator MMA on Russian social media page called VK. I've never heard of VK before that. I do not know if they are official from Bellator MMA, or it is unofficial. I would have to assume unofficial since it is not on the Bellator MMA website. Regardless, I will continue to publish my own rankings. I also have never been able to find continually updated fan made, unofficial rankings. So I have made my own, and will continue to update them as Bellator holds events.

Stay tuned for tomorrow when I publish my rankings for the bantamweight division in Bellator.
