Aaron Jeffery- First Canadian to headline an LFA event

The first Canadian to compete in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series makes another Canadian MMA milestone tonight as Ontario's Aaron Jeffery becomes the first Canadian to headline an LFA fight card. The 27 year old trains out of Niagara Top Team and Para Bellum MMA. He holds a record of 8-2 with his only two losses coming against current UFC fighters, Brendan Allen and Sean Brady. The fight against Brendan Allen made Jeffery the first Canadian to compete on the Contender Series. Allen got a submission victory that night. Brendan Allen has since gone on to become a quickly rising prospect in the UFC middleweight division, as he competes against fifteenth ranked UFC middleweight Ian Heinisch next month. As for Jeffrey, since that Contender Series bout, he has gone 2-0 picking up two TKO wins in headlining bouts.

Most UFC fans will be familiar with the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), as a significant amount of former LFA fighters have recently made their way into the UFC. So much so, that the LFA is now broadcast exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. There's even been times where LFA fights have been scrapped due to the UFC signing one of their fighters to cover a short notice fight in the UFC. With a win tonight for Aaron Jeffery, it would be pretty hard to deny him a shot in the UFC. That would be three main event victories since his Contender Series appearance. Aaron Jeffery also has a middleweight championship victory in BTC Fight Promotions, in a bout I was in attendance for in Windsor, ON. The main event of that BTC Fight Promotions event was Kyle Prepolec getting a victory of former UFC fighter Cody Pfister. Prepolec's next bout ended up being a short notice bout in the UFC against Nordine Taleb. So BTC is for sure on the UFC's radar as a showcase for Canadian MMA talent, I'm sure the UFC probably watched the incredible performance that Aaron Jeffery put on that night in his championship bout.

I am very excited for tonight to see Aaron Jeffery as he becomes the first Canadian to headline an LFA event, and likely a future UFC middleweight. My prediction is a third round KO finish. Honorable mention to his teammate Teshay "My House" Gouthro, who is also fighting tonight at the LFA 93 event. Gouthrou is a young prospect from Ontario who has a pro MMA record of 3-0, with two wins coming by TKO. You can watch their fights from LFA 93 tonight on UFC Fight Pass, main card starting at 9 PM eastern.

Shoutout to Aaron Jeffery, Teshay Gouthrou, and team, good luck to them tonight!
